According to the legends, Pandavas took this route while their ascent to heaven. Only Yudhishthira (one Pandavas) and a dog were able to reach heaven. All the other Pandavas died on the way. As per legends belief, Swargarohini is the only path from where one can reach Heaven in Human form.

The altitude of Satopanth Tal & Swargarohini trek via Badrinath varies throughout the journey. The highest point of the trek is Swargarohini Peak itself, which stands at an elevation of approximately 6,252 meters (20,512 feet) above sea level. However, the trek involves ascending and descending through different altitudes, including alpine meadows, forests, and high passes. Trekkers usually camp at various altitudes along the route, acclimatizing themselves to the changing elevation.
